Atlanta, Jan. 15, 2016 – The Supreme Court of Georgia will hold oral arguments at Georgia
State University’s College of Law at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20. Court will be held in the
Ceremonial Courtroom of the law school’s new building, located at 85 Park Place N.E. in
Atlanta.

The court will hear appeals in two cases – one civil and one criminal. In the first, a man is
appealing a Cobb County judge’s decision overturning a jury’s $635,000 verdict in his favor
against five people he had sued for posting defamatory statements about him on the internet. In
the second case, the DeKalb County District Attorney is appealing a judge’s order prohibiting
the admission of alleged gang-related crimes in Virginia when a group of young men go on trial
in Georgia for murder.
